There are a handful of shops on the Island selling essential items and of course excellent local produce.

THE COLONSAY GENERAL STORE
The general Store is very well stocked and you can find all your supplies here. It also sells local produce when available, as well as local free range eggs. Off licence sales are available. A good selection of wines is supplied by leading London wine merchants, Bibendum. You can pre-order your supplies by phone or via the website and have them waiting in your cottage for your arrival! THE COLONSAY HOUSE GARDENS AND CAFE
Open 3 afternoons a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays from 12 to 5pm and Saturdays from 2 to 5pm, the beautiful gardens are well worth a visit. The cafe and outdoor terrace overlook the gardens and serve freshly baked cakes, scones and cookies as well as light lunches of soup, tarts and salad leaves grown in the walled vegetable garden. THE BOOKSHOP
Located at Scalasaig next to the Brewery, the bookshop specialises in Scottish publications but also has a supply of good holiday reading and children’s books with a distinctly Highland flavour. The Bookshop is open most days 2 until 5pm. Tel 01951 200232.

THE OLD WAITING ROOM GALLERY AND TOURIST INFORMATION POINT

THE COLONSAY BREWERY
Brews Colonsay's very own beer and is located at Scalasaig. Supplied on tap in The Colonsay hotel or in bottles from the brewery itself. Open most afternoons.

October Food and Drink Festival 2021

The 10th Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 9th October 2021 for 2 weeks. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting. In 2019 we featured Marie Cheong-Thong (Japanese cooking and world renowned sake expert), Charlotte Flower (extraordinary chocolatier), Christopher Trotter (presenter and author), Alison Henderson (renowned chef and baker) and Fiona Misselbrook (fabulous cookery teacher) to forage, cook and learn to make bread!
