Colonsay Book Festival (25-26 April 2026)

The Colonsay Book Festival is the smallest and most remote literary festival in the UK but it attracts authors with huge reputations. The 2026 lineup includes Mike Berners-Lee, Pàdraig MacAoidh/Peter Mackay, Doug Johnstone and Andrew Miller.

This wonderful festival has over the years hosted authors such as Alexander McCall Smith, Ian Rankin, Val McDiarmid, James Naughtie (Today programme and author), Denise Mina (acclaimed crime writer), Hew Strachan (one of the UK's most eminent military historians), Jim Crumley (nature writer and poet), Julie Davidson (TV presenter, journalist and biographer of Mrs Livingstone) and Jacob Polley (prize winning poet and novelist).
