Local Information

DOCTOR
We have a doctor and a district nurse on the island. The surgery hours are 9 to 10am and 5 to 6pm 4 days a week (Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri). However the doctor is on call 24 hours seven days a week for anything urgent. In the event of a medical emergency, an air ambulance will lift the patient to the appropriate hospital in Glasgow - the service is incredibly quick and efficient. Tel 01951 200328.

CALMAC
There is a daily ferry service to and from Colonsay from April to October and 4 times a week in the winter months.

AIR SERVICE

There is a flight on Thursdays, morning and afternoon to and from Oban. There is an dditional Saturday morning flight on Saturday from April to end July. Hebridean Air also have a weekend flight to and from Colonsay on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon during the winter. Tel 0845 8057465

CHURCH SERVICES
There is a Parish church at Scalasaig which extends a warm welcome to visitors to join in their service. The services are conducted by a visiting minister and are held most Sundays. See the shop notice board for times.
