COTTAGE DETAILS
Come and unwind, breathe deeply, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life at the Avenue.
Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the historic estate gardens, reached via a private track that winds over a picturesque woodland stream, Avenue is a charming ground-floor cottage with beautiful views out onto the woodland. From your windows, you can spot some of the famous rhododendron collection.
Step inside to a warm, welcoming and spacious living space centred around a cosy multi-fuel burner. Beautifully refurbished in 2016, the cottage now has oil fired central heating. Vaulted ceilings and an open plan layout give the cottage an airy feel, while the connected kitchen and dining area set the scene for relaxed, sociable evenings after a day of exploring.
There is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, both with lovely views of the garden trees from the windows. The cottage features two bathrooms with showers, one immediately adjacent to the double bedroom and one off the living area. There is a pretty garden area, sunny and south facing, with outdoor furniture, giving you a perfect outdoor space to enjoy long summer evenings.
A lovely walking route leads straight from the front door to Loch Fada if you’re feeling adventurous, or you can enjoy the famous Colonsay Estate gardens right from your doorstep. Twice a week in spring and summer, the gardens tearoom is open, if you fancy a stroll down the tree lined avenue for a spot of tea or brunch.
Avenue is one of our most accessible cottages, set entirely on ground floor level and with a convenient walk-in shower. Parking is available for approximately four cars.
