The Lodge consists of a Victorian former gamekeeper's house and two traditional stone bothies adjacent to the house. The bothies are particularly rustic with exposed stone walls on the inside. The house is newly refurbished and is very comfortable.
Sleeping a maximum of 16 people in two separate buildings. For those on a budget, the Lodge is a peaceful and comfortable base from which to explore the island.
There is a laundrette with free washing machines and dryers located 1 km away at Colonsay House laundrette.
There are bicycles for hire and also golf clubs and small rowing boats for fly fishing on the lochs. All can be hired through the Colonsay Holidays Office.
There are three comfortable twin bedrooms, Ardskenish, Balnahard and Milbuie, upstairs with delightful views of the surrounding countryside. They all have hanging space or wardrobes and a chest of drawers. Ardskenish can be made into a triple bedroom on request. There is also a bathroom with shower and toilet.
Downstairs, there is another twin bedroom, Port Lobh, which can be made a triple room on request. There is a toilet and wash hand basin adjacent to the bedroom. There is also a sitting room with an open fire and a kitchen on the ground floor.

BOTHY BUNK ROOMS
The sleeping bothy is a rustic building with white washed stone walls inside. It has 3 cabins, Rubha Dubh, Eilean Olmsa and Dun Ghallain, They each sleeps 2 in a set of bunk beds.
There is a shower and toilet block next door (external access) with 2 showers and 2 toilets.

This is a separate bothy with additional kitchen facilities and dining table and seating area for 16.
The dining bothy is a rustic building with white washed stone walls inside. It has a microwave, 2 cookers, 2 fridges and sinks.
It has a huge dining table up one end, and a comfortable sitting and games area at the other end.

Now in its 7th year, the Colonsay Book Festival will be held on the weekend of 27th and 28th April 2019. It is the smallest and most remote literary festival in the UK but it attracts authors with huge reputations.
Provisional bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 20% deposit. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as the deposit is non-refundable. We recommend PJ Hayman's UK holiday cover, CancellationPlan. Bookings will remain firm provided the deposit is received within 5 days. The balance due must be received twelve weeks prior to the period booked and is non-refundable. A reminder will be sent prior to this date. Bookings cancelled after this time will be charged full rental. Any changes to bookings prior to full payment may incur a £50 administration charge. Payment should be made by debit card or credit card or by electronic bank transfer (BACS). We do not accept cheques as a method of payment. Colonsay Holidays reserves the right to amend confirmed bookings with respect to accommodation and you will be notified of any alterations prior to your arrival.
