Annual Island Events

Book Festival - 29th/30th April 2023
Conversations @ The Edge, Colonsay's Book Festival, is in April. It has recently featured famous Scottish authors such as Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith, Val McDermid, Candia McWilliam and Mairi Hedderwick, it always promises to be a feast of Scottish writing.

Festival of Spring OUTDOORS - 25th April to 9th May 2023
Colonsay is holding its 11th FESTIVAL OF SPRING "Outdoors" in April/May 2023. It will run for 2 weeks and will offer an extraordinary range of guided walks, talks and outdoor activities. From guided birds and wildflower walks to foraging and drystone walling. Something for everyone!

15th Colonsay Folk Festival - 14th to 17th September 2023
The 13th COLONSAY FOLK FESTIVAL will be staged from 14th to 17th September 2023. Attracting the cream of Scotland's folk music talent, this event sells out very fast!

Colonsay Food and Drink Festival - 11th to 25th October 2023
The Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 11th October for 2 weeks. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting From tastings to baking, preserving, foraging and cooking sessions. Plenty also for children; baking, jam making, craft sessions, treasure hunt and outdoor activity trails.

October Food and Drink Festival 2024

The 13th Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 10th to 22nd October 2024. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting. This year we have Charlotte Flower (extraordinary chocolatier), Christopher Trotter (presenter and author), Alison Henderson (renowned forager, chef and baker) and Amy Rankine (hugely qualified wild foraging expert) to forage, cook and learn to make bread!
