Annual Island Events

Book Festival - 24th and 25th April 2022
Conversations @ The Edge, Colonsay's Book Festival, is in April. It has recently featured famous Scottish authors such as Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith, Val McDermid, Candia McWilliam and Mairi Hedderwick, it always promises to be a feast of Scottish writing.

Festival of Spring OUTDOORS - 26th April to 9th May 2021
Colonsay is holding its 10th FESTIVAL OF SPRING "Outdoors" in April/May 2021. It will run for 2 weeks and will offer an extraordinary range of guided walks, talks and outdoor activities. From guided birds and wildflower walks to foraging and drystone walling. Something for everyone!

13th Colonsay Folk Festival - 16th to 19th September 2021
The 13th COLONSAY FOLK FESTIVAL will be staged from 16th to 19th September 2021. Attracting the cream of Scotland's folk music talent, this event sells out very fast!

Colonsay Food and Drink Festival - 9th to 23rd October 2021
The Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 9th October for 2 weeks. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting From tastings to baking, preserving, foraging and cooking sessions. Plenty also for children; baking, jam making, craft sessions, treasure hunt and outdoor activity trails.

October Food and Drink Festival 2021

The 10th Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 9th October 2021 for 2 weeks. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting. In 2019 we featured Marie Cheong-Thong (Japanese cooking and world renowned sake expert), Charlotte Flower (extraordinary chocolatier), Christopher Trotter (presenter and author), Alison Henderson (renowned chef and baker) and Fiona Misselbrook (fabulous cookery teacher) to forage, cook and learn to make bread!

Now in its 10th year, the Colonsay Book Festival will be held on the weekend of 23rd and 24th April 2022. It is the smallest and most remote literary festival in the UK but it attracts authors with huge reputations.
