Do we supply bed linen and towels?
Yes

What do we supply in the way of cleaning products, tea towels etc?
We supply dishcloths, teatowels, washing up liquid, a few dishwasher tablets and some cleaning products.

What are the directions to the Cottages, Colonsay House and the Backpackers?
You will be sent directions in your information pack after booking.

Do staff take the meter readings for guests?
Yes

Can I change dates or move my booking to another property?
Yes, if we can relet the property for the dates you have moved from, subject to a £50 admin fee per change.

What if I need to cancel?
All bookings are non refundable however we will offer a credit note for a future booking if the property relets less a £50 admin charge.

Do you need to collect a key?
No, the key will be in the door of the property for your arrival.

What happens if the ferry gets cancelled on the day you are due to check-out?
We will allow you to stay on in the property for a pro rata nightly charge. We recommend taking out travel insurance to cover accommodation costs in the event of a ferry cancellation.

Can we request transport to and from our cottage ?
We can transport your luggage for a charge of £30 per trip.

Can I order a food delivery to the property?
The Colonsay shop does food deliveries Tel 01951 200265.

Is there a welcome pack on arrival?
We provide some tea and coffee sachets and milk portions.

Does self catering mean we have to buy all the basics eg toilet roll?
Yes. We provide some toilet roll, bin liners and cleaning products to start you off but you will need to buy more if you are staying for more than a couple of days.

Do you supply kindling if we are renting a cottage from you?
If you order coal, we will provide some kindling and firelighters. Thereafter we suggest you collect sticks/twigs etc from the woodland garden for kindling.

Can we charge electric cars at the Estate? if yes what is the charge for it ?
Yes, £10 per charge.

Are dogs allowed in the café / garden?
Yes, on a lead.

Can you visit the gardens when the cafe is closed?
Not usually but it may be possible by prior arrangement tel 01951 200312.

The 12th Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run from 7th to 19th October 2023. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting. This year we have Charlotte Flower (extraordinary chocolatier), Christopher Trotter (presenter and author), Alison Henderson (renowned forager, chef and baker) and Amy Rankine (hugely qualified wild foraging expert) to forage, cook and learn to make bread!
