Backpackers Lodge

The Lodge is located in a peaceful spot in the centre of the island with commanding views towards Loch Fada. It is quiet and peaceful with no other houses close by. The pub, shop and pier are 3 km away. The Lodge is very well equipped and has a large garden with lawns and shrubs and outdoor furniture. IT HAS FREE WIFI.

Prices range from £36 to £55 per person per night.

The Lodge consists of a Victorian former gamekeeper's house and two traditional stone bothies adjacent to the house. The traditional bothies are particularly rustic with exposed stone walls on the inside. There is a new separate self contained bothy with a double bedroom, kitchenette, sitting room and bathroom with shower and toilet.

The house is newly refurbished and is very comfortable.
Sleeping a maximum of 18 people in three separate buildings.

For those on a budget, the Lodge is a peaceful and comfortable base from which to explore the island.

There is a laundrette with free washing machines and dryers located 1 km away at Colonsay House laundrette.

There are small rowing boats for fly fishing on the lochs. All can be hired through the Colonsay Holidays Offices.

All bed linen and towels are provided.

Backpackers Accommodation

HOUSE ROOMS
There are three comfortable twin bedrooms, Ardskenish, Balnahard and Milbuie, upstairs with delightful views of the surrounding countryside. They all have hanging space or wardrobes and a chest of drawers. Ardskenish can be made into a triple bedroom on request. There is also a bathroom with shower and toilet.
Downstairs, there is another twin bedroom, Port Lobh, which can be made a triple room on request. There is a toilet and wash hand basin adjacent to the bedroom. There is also a sitting room with an open fire and a kitchen on the ground floor.
House rooms range from £39 to £41.50 per person per night including linen.
NEW SELF CONTAINED BOTHY
A brand new bothy for 2024 which has a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom with shower and toilet. Prices range from £100 to £120 per night for max 2 people.

BOTHY BUNK ROOMS
The sleeping bothy is a rustic building with white washed stone walls inside. It has 3 cabins, Rubha Dubh, Eilean Olmsa and Dun Ghallain, Each cabin sleeps 2 in a set of bunk beds.
There is a shower and toilet block next door (external access) with 2 showers and 2 toilets.
Cabin prices are up to £37 per person per night including linen.


Self Contained Bothy, Fada

The bothy, Fada, has a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchenette and bathroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

The bothy cabin is sited for maximum privacy in the garden of the Lodge and boasts double doors looking out towards Loch Fada and the hills beyond.

Enjoy your own space while having the choice to access the Lodge's communal facilities and the camaraderie of fellow guests at any time.


The Dining Bothy

This is a separate bothy with additional kitchen facilities and dining table and seating area for 16.

The dining bothy is a rustic building with white washed stone walls inside. It has a microwave, 2 cookers, a large fridge and sinks.
It has a huge dining table up one end, and a comfortable sitting and games area at the other end.

BACKPACKERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Provisional bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 40% deposit. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as the deposit is non-refundable. . Bookings will remain firm provided the deposit is received within 5 days. The balance due must be received twelve weeks prior to the period booked and is non-refundable. A reminder will be sent prior to this date. Bookings cancelled after this time will be charged full rental. Any changes to bookings prior to full payment may incur a £100 administration charge. Payment should be made by debit card or credit card or by electronic bank transfer (BACS). We do not accept cheques as a method of payment. Colonsay Holidays reserves the right to amend confirmed bookings with respect to accommodation and you will be notified of any alterations prior to your arrival. If it is not possible to find alternative accommodation you will be notified at the earliest opportunity and refunded in full. Colonsay Holidays expects rooms to be left clean and tidy on departure.
