Provisional bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 40% deposit. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as the deposit is non-refundable. We recommend PJ Hayman's UK holiday cover, CancellationPlan. Bookings will remain firm provided the deposit is received within 5 days. The balance due must be received twelve weeks prior to the period booked and is non-refundable. A reminder will be sent prior to this date. Bookings cancelled after this time will be charged full rental. Any changes to bookings prior to full payment may incur a £50 administration charge. Payment should be made by debit card or credit card or by electronic bank transfer (BACS). We do not accept cheques as a method of payment. Colonsay Holidays reserves the right to amend confirmed bookings with respect to accommodation and you will be notified of any alterations prior to your arrival. If it is not possible to find alternative accommodation you will be notified at the earliest opportunity and refunded in full. Colonsay Holidays expects properties to be left clean and tidy on departure and reserves the right to charge a minimum of £50 for properties left unclean on departure. Electricity and oil in houses/cottages is charged separately. Your electricity/oil meter will be read on arrival and departure and you will be charged at cost. If you are staying in a house or cottage and would like coal delivered, it must be ordered at the time of final payment. The coal is supplied in 25kg bags. The coal costs £12 inc VAT per bag. Once on the island, coal can be purchased from the Service Point. Any purchases from the Colonsay Holidays office once on the island will be delivered and will be charged accordingly.
We allow 1 dog per property in the smaller cottages and 2 dogs in the sleep 8 and above houses at a charge of £30/dog/week. We do not allow dogs in the Colonsay House apartments (except Stable and Sgoltaire).
Please note that we require your credit or debit card details on arrival (except for reservations in the Backpackers), so that on departure outstanding bills for electricity, oil, breakages (if any) and any extra cleaning (if required) can be charged to the card given.
